Week 2 (II)

I've bookmarked some websites about social bookmarking, improving google search skills and one "langwitches blog" to introduce technology in the classroom
http://langwitches.org/blog/2009/01/02/reasons-for-skyping-in-the-classroom
I still think I prefer Google for my kids, because it has the Catalan version and also the Spanish version which means they can use it easily. They haven't got enough level of English to use a search engine in English without help yet in Primary school. So I think my task at this point is teaching them how to improve their search skills using the Tips mentioned in the webgraphy and also Mohamed's suggested blog on Improving Your Google Search Skills. I 'll also have a look at Riyadh suggestion on englishteststore.net. as well as  sweetsearch and kidsklick. Another interesting "discovery" was www.findingdulcinea.com which I already had a look at and found very interesting.

What a busy week!!

  1. Hi Angels,
It seems we have common interest in The bookmarking idea and improving Google search skills.I liked the link you suggested about " Reasons for Skyping in the Classroom". It really brings more life to the classroom and offer the students a real chance to see the language they are learning into practice , not just courses that end with the end of exams. And i can't find better words than David who said."The use of Skype in a classroom could almost be like having the world at your classroom". I also suggest you think of the idea of School Twining. I hope you will like it.Here is the URL to a nice website http://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/index.htm.
    Best Wishes

  2. Hi Mariaang

Now teachers and students, anywhere in the world, can connect and meetlive in the Virtual Classroom for an online interactive class. Thecollaborative web conferencing environment enables you to communicatesynchronously using video and audio or through text chat, and to share presentations, documents and images on an interactive whiteboard.and here in BAhrain most of students have smart-devices which allow them to reinforce the theory of M-learning i.e mobile learning. i liked your idea very much which i call for it in Bahrain but also bu using the smart phones and i pads and it could be linked between other schools inside and outside the kingdom of Bahrain. so i recommend you to link between these smart devices with the smart board from one hand and between the students themselves .another point which is considered for me a solution for many students who couldn't attend the lessons for some reasons , it is recording the lessons and uploaded it in youtube.com . by this way many students can follow up what is missing and be on the stake .
    regards
    Belal
