Week 5

Today I finished my first Webquest. It was hard work but I think my students are going to like it.We were working on Nocturnal animals and I think they are going to like the websites I chose for them. I think it's a step forward in the mini project I was going to design for them because it's more guided and they won't get lost as easily as in the miniproject. I will also avoid the problem with inappropriate images that happened to me on Friday when a student was googling the name of an animal and something else came up.  

The readings proposed for this week lead me to make this webquest and also to design a rubricc to evaluate the drama classes I'm starting this week. Some students are worried about presenting their plays to other classes because they know the other students prepared the play the year before and so they will be evaluated by them too. They don't know about the rubric the older students will have to help assess younger mates. I'll have to teach them to be nice with younger students when using the rubric.

I also had  a topic to talk to my Principal who is always asking what exactly is a rubric. I send him some information and I think I clarified the concept of rubric for him. I also told my teacher mates the idea of making webquests and using them in class as an alternative to classbooks and some of them asked for information. It's like I'm doing something useful for both students and teachers at my school.
